Our Story

Naima Imouyarh

Founded by Naima Imouyarh

Riad Mayo was born from a vision to share the beauty of the Ourika Valley with the world — on exclusively private terms. Naima Imouyarh grew up in Morocco and spent years dreaming of creating a space where guests could experience the true warmth, generosity, and splendour of Moroccan hospitality.

In 2018, that dream became a reality. What began as a personal project on five hectares of land in the Ourika Valley has grown into one of Morocco's most beloved private retreat properties.

Naima oversees every aspect of Riad Mayo personally — from the design of each bedroom to the welcome her team extends to every arriving group. Her guiding principle has always been simple: treat every guest as though they are arriving at a family home.

"We do not sell rooms. We share our home."

— Naima Imouyarh, Founder

What Guides Us

Our Values

Everything at Riad Mayo flows from a set of deeply held beliefs about hospitality, community, and place.

Total Privacy

We believe in the rare gift of genuine seclusion. When you arrive at Riad Mayo, the entire estate is yours — no other guests, no compromises.

Authentic Hospitality

Riad Mayo is a home before it is a hotel. Every gesture — from the welcome tea to the goodnight lanterns — reflects a culture of genuine generosity.

Local Roots

Our team, our food, and our practices are deeply rooted in the Ourika Valley. We are proud to be part of this community and to share it with our guests.

Our Commitments

Initiatives

Riad Mayo is committed to the wellbeing of the Ourika Valley — its people, its land, and its future.

Local Employment

Our entire team is drawn from the local community. We prioritise hiring, training, and fairly compensating people from the Ourika Valley and surrounding villages.

Sustainable Sourcing

Chef Rabia sources all produce from local farmers and markets. We minimise waste, avoid single-use plastics, and compost all food waste on-site.

Cultural Preservation

The Riad was designed and furnished using traditional Moroccan craftsmanship — supporting artisans, zellige makers, and woodworkers from the local region.
